In 2024, the new range of Exponat dry wines replaced the #ForYou and #ForMe wines. We decided to create a basic range of fresh and bright young wines. In the future, we will reduce ageing to 8–18 months in neutral vessels. White wine will go on sale the following year and red wine the second year after harvest with a retail shelf price of up to RUB 1,000.
Our special pride is the labels on our Exponat wines, featuring paintings by two winners of the 2024 Burnier Competition for Young Regional Artists on the theme of “New Horizons”. The competition will be held every year, so the labels will change with each new vintage.
Exponat 2022 dry white wine
Label designed by Veronica Cheremisina, a make-up artist, Krasnodar Region:
“…I decided to create something light and airy, yet hard to do, so that it would be like the challenging process of making wine. What was my reasoning? There’s a person behind every glass of good wine; this person created the idea and put in a huge amount of work to plant the vineyards, wait for the vines to mature, and then make the wine — this is a long and difficult process.
I’m a theatre and film make-up artist. I love drawing on faces, but I’ve never done body art. I made this work specially for the competition. I wanted to try a new genre and learn something new. My boyfriend, Valery, agreed to be my model.”
Exponat 2021 dry red wine
Label designed by Sophie Shtern, a multimedia artist, Tver Region:
“I wanted to simplify everything and add some irony. When we are young, we express complex feelings in simple ways: without much thinking, we write a phone number on our wrist, draw a heart and initials in the sand — these little things are all filled with the deepest feelings. That’s how these little people were born, and then they started dancing and having fun on the canvas. I wanted everyone to be able to recognise themselves in one of these people, not by appearance, but internally, through their mood. For the artist, they are the quintessence of simplicity, carelessness and youth.
I also chose the colour scheme for a reason: orange is the colour of adventurism and joy. The vine doesn’t produce grapes without sunlight. This is the only fully warm colour that has no cold undertones. Just like when you’re young, there are no half measures.”
