Here’s what happened. After another tasting session, we realised that our Krasnostop needed its own exclusive glass where it would “sound” perfect! Just as we worked it out. Just as it was created by the vine and the sun and ripened to perfection with barrel ageing.

Together with the Russian office of the famous wine glass maker Riedel, we organised a wine tasting of Burnier Krasnostop 2015, using 15 different styles of glasses. Without decanting. The wine was served at a temperature of +18°C, and we found the right 650 ml glass with the ideal shape!

The handmade glasses were individually decorated with engravings of the Riedel and Burnier brands. But the main touch was the red glass stem, referring to the history of the name of the indigenous grape variety. In Russian, it sounds like “red feet”, because the Don Cossacks used to call grape stalks “feet”, and in this variety they turn red over time.

We waited patiently for six months for the Austrian glassblowing experts to make our glasses. And here they are at home, in the tasting room.
